This is NOT nice

Now 36 hours later we are still without power. On February 14 th, Valentines we of course can appreciate some candle light. Romantic? Yes and no. It is really dark and so we can't see what we make for dinner and it's raining, raining and raining.

Don't want to get depressed but it is hard NOT to. There is no update on what the problem is and when it's going to be fixed. A positive is that we have gas so we are still warm. Something al lot of Americans have to do without. And another thing that keeps us warm is the delicious treats we got from Patty for Valentine.

Gezellig voor 1 avond maar vervelend wanneer het langer duurt. Nog steeds aan het ijzelen bij jullie? Hoop dat t snel voorbij trekt. Ik zie dat jullie constant op de scheidslijn liggen van koud en warmer weer.

Idd. We zijn het wel een beetje zat nu. Nog steeds geen elektriciteit 🥲. De ijzel was maar 1 nacht. Ook valt de schade bij ons nogal mee, in naburige plaatsen is het veel erger met omgevallen bomen, dus waarom het zo lang duurt?

Thanks sis but we are still waiting. Patty gave us some lanterns because we are running out of candles (our stock from NL that is)

For some reason there’s a real shortage of candles. I can’t get a handle on why this is but when you go to your regular supermarket (you our favorite neighborhood supermarket the Coop don’t you;)) it’s been week since they had candles I stock. Lately I’ve resorted to ordering candles through Amazon. They still do have stock.
