Dear all, it has been a very special year. On the second day of 2020 our youngest dog Mijne came to live with us. And then Corona came. Buying our house here in Clarksville in April, establishing the Sunnyside Sisters Bed and Breakfat LLC in May and writing our businessplan for the visa application. Selling our home and moving in June. And Corona stayed, making 'normal' things not so normal. For a couple of months we lived with our four animals in a temporary 'chalet'. There we enjoyed having Martijns parents and other family close by. End of August we were finally granted our visa and access to the US. With our animals we arrived here in September. In October we got our Social Security Number and opened our first bank account here in the US. Then our two red kittens June and Julie arrived from the shelter here in Clarksville. And still Corona was here. We got used to carrying a mask when shopping, doing the laundry and when meeting people. In November we met our friends Patty and Brad and our contractor Edwards started with building our new home. My dad turned also 80, and me 50. Both birthdays we hardly celebrated due to Corona.

During our first months here we cleared our property. To give you an idea of what we have accomplished so far and without trying to brag we think that together the walls with the cleared wood are appr. 500 meter long and 1,5 meter high (appr. 1/3 of a mile long and 4.5 ft high). We are not finished yet, but we are getting there:-)

Yeah, it has been a year we will never forget, the good and the bad. But we are looking forward to 2021 with no more living restrictions, with opening our Bed and Breakfast, with getting yet another white swiss shepherd, with having new and continuing friendships AND last but absolute not least, welcoming family and friends in the Sunnyside B&B.
