Last Tuesday our friends Ann and her husband John came to stay one night with us. Ann’s great great grandmother (?) was Georgia Virginia Carrington, one of the sisters that got maried and moved away to start a family of her own. Ann and John have been visiting us a couple of times before, they also were here with the Grand Opening last year.
This time they brought something very precious with them: two end irons* which have been in the Carrington family for so many generations they once were used here at the Sunnyside. So after almost 100 years they came back to the Sunnyside.
We feel honored that Ann decided it was time to return them home. Thank you Ann & John, we will take very good care of them.
Have a great weekend you all!!!
*) end iron = One of two short, thick bars of iron used to hold the ends of the sticks in a wood-fire built on a hearth.
